Avengers Summer 2

Our class Venus Fly Trap Naming Competition has come to an exciting end, with Maggie clinching victory by naming it “Chomper”! Well done, Maggie!

Maths

This term, Year 4 students will dive into the world of angles, perimeter, parallel lines, and vertical and horizontal lines.

English

Our young learners will continue their adventure with ‘The Wild Robot’, alongside honing their skills in letter and speech writing.

Geography

Exploring the thrilling topic of earthquakes, students have engaged in crafting non-chronological reports.

Science

Building on the foundation laid in Summer One, pupils have explored plants, focusing on germination, fertilisation, pollination, and seed dispersal.

History

Delving into the realm of Anglo-Saxon Gods and Vikings, students have set sail on Viking long ships. We also had some very special visitors who taught us everything about Vikings on the 5th July, on this highly interactive day the children were able to perfect their shield wall and war cry, dress in traditional Viking dress of the rich and poor and engage in the milling of grain for bread as well as much more!

RE

In Religious Education, the focus continues with Sikhism and the Guru Granth Sahib. Students have studied how Sikhs exhibit commitment to their faith and how we can show commitment to different things in our own lives.

Spanish

¡Vamos! Language skills have been put to the test with lessons on fruit and the seasons of the year.

Transition

During the two weeks of transition we have been focusing on equipping our students with the emotional literacy tools they need. We have been clarifying class expectations and preparing them with Year 4 Maths and English skills for the upcoming academic year.

Art

Students have explored the interplay of light and dark on everyday objects, mastering the art of shading from dark to light and light to dark. Understanding how to use the pencil to create a gentle transition across the spectrum, examining art and studying the tones used to create different effects and making their own master pieces.

Well done Year 3 for your hard work over the year and we hope you have a fun and restful Summer. See you in September!
