This term in English we have looked at two stories. The first was a legend from Cornwall called The Mousehole Cat. We looked a lot at how the author describes the storm that is stopping the town from fishing and wrote our own version of the story from a different character’s point of view as well as a poem. We also looked at the African tale Fly, Eagle, Fly! about a man who finds an eagle chick and raises it to be a chicken. We talked about how we can sometimes be the chickens, unaware of our own potential when really, we are the eagle and need to reach for the sky.

We then took at close look at our teeth and how each tooth does a different job to break our food down into smaller pieces. To understand how we can look after our teeth we conducted an experiment with eggs in different liquids to see what effect they had on the shells and how these liquids could affect our tooth enamel.
