Our Approach to Remote Education
At Springfield CPS we are committed to ensuring that learning continues if children are unable to attend school in person. Remote education will be used in the following circumstances:
- Whole or partial school closures or where attendance is restricted (e.g., during extreme weather or public health events)
- Individual cases where a child is unable to attend school but is well enough to learn from home (e.g., due to illness or medical needs)
Accessing Remote Learning
All children have access to Google Classroom, which teachers use to provide daily learning tasks, videos, and resources.
To access Google Classroom:
- Visit: https://accounts.google.com/
- Enter your child’s school-provided email address and password
- Click on their year group folder to find the set learning for the day or week
If your child is having trouble logging in or you have forgotten login details, please contact the school office.
What if My Child Cannot Access Online Learning?
We understand that some families may not have access to a suitable device or reliable internet connection at home. If this applies to you, please let us know as soon as possible so we can support you. The school can offer:
- Loaned devices such as laptops or tablets (subject to availability)
- Printed work packs containing the same activities as those online
- Telephone check-ins with your child’s class teacher to offer learning support and feedback
- Alternative ways to deliver learning, including USBs with video content if appropriate
Our aim is to make sure that every child can continue their learning effectively, whether online or offline.
