Schools Sports Funding

School Sports Funding Allocation

Schools have been promised the sports funding to support all children and improve the quantity, quality and breadth of PE and sport provision across the school. The allocation is calculated according to the intake of the school, and the school must decide how best to use the money to improve the breadth and quality of PE and sport provision, including increased participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.

Sports Funding in 2023/2024

Schools have been promised the sports funding to support all children and improve the quantity, quality and breadth of PE and sport provision across the school. The allocation is calculated according to the intake of the school, and the school must decide how best to use the money to improve the breadth and quality of PE and sport provision, including increased participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.

We will receive a sum of £18,110 of PE and Sport premium funding for academic year 2023-2024.

This funding should be used to:

  1. Engage all young people in physical activity
  2. Raising the profile of PE and sport across whole school
  3. Increasing the confidence and knowledge of staff delivering PE in schools
  4. Providing a broader range of activities
  5. Increasing participation in competitive school sport

Here at Springfield Community Primary School, we plan to do this by:

  • Resourcing our school stock so all equipment is readily available to all children of different abilities.
  • CPD opportunities for all staff so they can confidently deliver effective teaching and learning within PE.
  • Raise the profile of mental health and healthy eating within school.
  • Raise the profile of PE in school through fun and exciting lessons.
  • Raise the profile of external sports agencies and getting them in to work closer with our children (Sanderson’s Dance etc.)
  • Book in experiences which link to developing a more holistic child from EYFS including early swimming and tots on tyres and enhance our children’s cultural capital.
  • Booking in extra-curriculum activities like GoVelo, swimming, OAA, residential etc.
  • Increase the participation in interschool competitions and festivals for all learners. This will develop links with other schools within our locality.

Once the Sports Premium booklet has been published it’ll be uploaded with our use of the funding.
