How to apply for Reception school place for September 2026

If your child’s date of birth falls between 01.09.2021 and 31.08.2022 then they will start school in September 2026.  You can apply for a school place between 01 September 2025 and 15 January 2026.

or you can visit the Lancashire Learning and Information Exchange in Burnley or Preston  where someone will be available to assist you

How to apply for a school place during the year:

Generally, children can be admitted to a school at the start of a term; in September, January or April.

To apply for an ‘In Year’ school place you can click on the link below and complete the form direct on the Lancashire County Council Website:

OR:  you can also apply using the ‘In Year Application Form’ below and either post to Preston or email to the East Pupil Access Team

Please note:

For children with EHCP, Local Authority will consult with schools on an individual basis to ascertain if the setting being approached can provide the provision to meet the needs of the child, prior to then being named on the EHCP.
