Week’s focus:
This week we focused on the charity Children In Need.
Learning Activities and Adventures
Natural Pudsey Collage
The children worked together as a team to make a Pudsey Bear.
We collected bright yellow leaves for his fur, we used a conquer for an eye, stones for his nose and used different coloured leaves for his bandage and a stick for his smile.
We displayed it outdoors as a group artwork.
Skills & Learning Highlights
We practised creativity, problem solving skills, building confidence and independence in a natural setting.
Reflections / What We Noticed
The group showed great teamwork and talked about why they choose a conquer and green leaves that were nibbled by an insect to create their art.
Awareness: Use the activity to talk about why Pudsey is the mascot and how Children in Need helps children across the UK.
Nature Connection / Observations
We refilled the bird feeders. We noticed that one of the trees (The Alder) in Spring Forest still had green leaves, we also saw that lots of leaves had lots of holes in them where beetles and caterpillars had been feeding on.
