3rd and 4th December 2025 – Stick Man
Week’s focus:
This week we focused on the children’s story Stick Man.
Learning Activities and Adventures
The children pretended to dress their own stickman or Stick Lady.
Skills & Learning Highlights
Children search for sticks of different shapes and sizes, then sort them into categories (long, short, forked, curved). They can choose one to become their own “Stick Man.”
Afterwards they dressed their stick man by winding colourful wool round the stick and sticking buttons on it for eyes.
Reflections / What We Noticed
The group showed great care in wrapping the wool around the twig and waiting patiently for the glue to set.
Nature Connection / Observations
The weather has been very cold and one group stayed indoors to make their craft as the rain was torrential.
