Today three teams from Springfield attended a STEM primary celebration event at UTC in Burnley. Our three teams were: Bright Lights of Springfield, Go! Go! Gruffalos and Fire Smashers
In preparation for the day the children were involved in creating a product for one of the following levels/categories:
Apprentice level 1- Shoebox model (EYFS)
Apprentice Level 2 – Shoebox model with safety features (Key stage 1)
Engineer Level 1- Vehicle designed to climb a ramp (Key stage 2)
As part of the day the children
· Presented the work that they have done in class to the judges, for their category
· Got the opportunity to view the work of other children
· Talked to the judges about their project
· Took part in celebrating their success with other schools
The staff at the end of the day commented on how well behaved our children had been and to top of a great day, our EYFS team won the best theme category. Well done! They will now be representing Springfield at the North West regional Finals on Wednesday 13th July.
Well done also goes to our other two teams, who came second in the Distance category.
