In May 2024, we proudly hosted Springfield Together, a special event designed to celebrate the rich network of community connections that support and enhance the curriculum for our children. It was also a valuable opportunity for our parents and carers to meet the many individuals and organisations who play a key role in our children’s education and wellbeing.
The event brought together a wide range of partners, including: Lancashire Adult Learning, Burnley Leisure and Culture, Calico, Rockwood Nursery, Forest School, Pennine Lancashire Community Gardens, our Pastoral Team, the School Nurse, BPRCVS, Safenet, St Catherine’s Church, Friends of Springfield, and the East Lancashire Mental Health Support Team.
Each of these agencies shared how they are involved in enriching the curriculum and supporting our children’s learning and development. They also expressed their commitment to continuing this partnership and offering valuable support to our school and families moving forward.
The response from families was fantastic, with an amazing turnout and plenty of positive feedback. We’re proud to say that this is just the first of many stakeholder events we plan to host in the coming years.
To thank our families for attending, everyone went home with a delicious freshly made curry, rice, naan bread, and a drink, all prepared by our brilliant kitchen team. There was also a raffle for a food hamper, which was joyfully won by one of our EYFS parents.
This truly was a celebration of community, collaboration, and connection – and a wonderful reminder that at Springfield, we grow together.
